same problem!!! solved on commenting out gpio_deep_sleep_hold_dis(); in Documents/Arduino/libraries/M5Stack/src/utility/Power.cpp I don't know why, but now arduino compile

you need to download and install the cp2102 (or what ever the driver is) Update to the latest arduino and install the esp32 and M5 boards then the esp32 and M5 Libs.
