Filitra 10 mg is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Its active ingredient is vardenafil, which belongs to a class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors (phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors). These medicines work by improving blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, helping achieve and maintain an erection. When a man is sexually stimulated, the body releases nitric oxide in the penis. This triggers a chain reaction that increases cyclic GMP, a chemical that relaxes smooth muscles and allows more blood to flow in. PDE5 normally breaks down cyclic GMP. Vardenafil in Filitra blocks PDE5, allowing cyclic GMP to stay active longer, which improves erection quality.
