WHAT IS AMBIEN ~
Ambien is a sedative-hypnotic medication used for the short-term treatment of insomnia, specifically for people who have trouble falling asleep. It works by slowing activity in the brain to allow for sleep induction. It is generally intended for temporary use (7 to 10 days) to help reset sleep patterns.
HOW TO USE IT ~
Timing: Take Ambien immediately before getting into bed. It works very rapidly (within 15–30 minutes).
The "7-Hour Rule": Do not take Ambien unless you are certain you can stay in bed for a full 7 to 8 hours. Waking up sooner can result in severe memory gaps, dizziness, and impaired coordination.
Empty Stomach: For the fastest effect, take it on an empty stomach. High-fat meals can slow down the absorption of the medication.
Dosage: The standard initial dose is 5 mg for women and 5 mg or 10 mg for men. Never exceed 10 mg per day.
