Magnet on M5stickC Plus2
-
Has anyone successfully removed the magnet from the back of the M5stickC Plus2? I want to use it in close proximity with the external IMUPro external sensor with magnetometer but naturally the magnet makes that impossible. That means the two devices are incompatible with the supplied 50mm cable. I asked M5stack if it is possible to buy them without the magnet but they said no.

@pmolsen its possible, I can send some pictures how M5Stick case looks like when opened, can't use longer groove cable?

They need to be in close proximity. The magnet is on the outside of the case so it should be possible to get it off without opening it. On the inside there would just be the back of the plastic indentation.
I will try grinding a part of the edge of the magnet away with a dremel tool and then prying the magnet out with a screwdriver, but I am concerned about breaking the case, but I hoped someone else may have done it.

Featuring a built-in magnet at its base, the M5StickC Plus2 can easily be attached to metallic surfaces. As a result of this feature, quick mounting can be performed in IoT projects, robotics, or industrial settings without the need for additional hardware. By incorporating a magnetic base, the device is more versatile and user-friendly for developers who want to deploy sensors or displays in various environments with minimal effort.

Hello @peolsolutions
please stop posting mostly irrelevant information. This topic is about how to remove the magnets - not about what the magnets are good for.
Thanks
