Nema 17's work fine and so do those from cd/dvd drives.
Just make sure to use an external power supply

You will need to adjust the drivers as they are not calibrated by default.

                      Ebay link?

Calibration is done via the tiny silver round thing on the individual stepper driver.

                          Yes, just like that.
Don't connect any steppers when calibrating it!

yes the nema 17 will be fine.

I'm sure that the m5 will receive power from the module but i'm not certain.
you will need external power to the module to power the stepper.

@ajb2k3 Do you have any good scource for wires for the stepper output?

I have several sets of stepper motor wires but none that fit in the stepper module

@kryten the stepper module uses the standard Grove cable system so cutting off the existing wire connections on the stepper motor and replacing them with a grove wire harness works fine for me.

I hope to get some wires sorted out soon so I can see if I manage to get the module working on a "printer" (2D drawings)

It looks like it should work but you would need to adjust the drivers. I don’t have one so I can’t say for certain but it is a 4 wire stepper
