5V_Bus Max current

I am running a NEMA 17 motor using a DRV8834 driver and I was wondering if it would be possible to drive it using the 5V_bus. The current is set to 1.5A per phase and the specs on the boost says that it's 3A but I'm not sure about the rest of the system. I'm using the 750mAh battery module to power the whole thing but I could also use an external battery through the USB if needed. This external battery could be used in combination with the internal one or instead but in the latter I'd be concerned about the fuse in the input.
The alternative would be to use a separate battery bank to run just the motor but I'd rather avoid that route if possible.
Any thoughts?

500 mA is the limit on the 5V bus (if I recall correctly)
