Is it a common issue? Has anyone found a way (either in software or in hardware) to reduce this noise?</p>

<p dir="auto">Yes, <a href="https://thepihut.com/products/m5stickc-speaker-hat" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">mine</a> is the same on the original SPK PAM8303 hat, particularly on startup. I believe there was a mod, and maybe retro, to stop/reduce some of the unwanted noise. I'll see if I can locate the details.</p>
<p dir="auto">See <a href="https://docs.m5stack.com/en/hat/hat-spk" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">this</a> page just below schematic. I haven't tried it myself.</p>
<p dir="auto">The <a href="https://thepihut.com/products/m5stickcplus-speaker-2-hat-max98357" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">SPK2</a> is very cheap and maybe better quality also.</p>
